W e appreciate everyone who took the time to attend the Senate Toastmasters Club Open House! We learned why it matters for personal and professional growth and development from Osetemega Iribiri, VP of Education.

Did you miss it? Here is a quick recap of the event:

Randy Lioz gave a riveting speech on why businesses should care about depolarization. In “Depolarizing Organizational Culture,” it was interesting to learn how workplace culture tends to have a more significant impact on societal culture. Carol Wayman, our immediate past president, evaluated his speech.

This was followed by guest speaker Varun Puri, co-founder of Yoodli, who made a presentation about the AI-powered communication coach that is transforming how we speak. In a live demonstration of how Yoodli (www.yoodli.ai) works, he showed us how it is used to receive private and judgment-free analytics on filler words, body language, content, etc. Users can sign up, record a presentation, save, and receive real-time feedback and evaluation. In addition to leveraging AI, the platform allows users to send their presentations to friends/colleagues who can also give their evaluations. As I type this, Yoodli is being rolled out to 300k+ Toastmasters members globally!

To wrap up the day, Sonya Ponds, Division A Director, presented the Club awards and recognized seven members of the Senate Club:

Award Recipients:
A. Pathway achievement (for completing their Levels 4 and 5) — Toastmasters Medal
1. Carol Wayman, Dynamic Leadership Pathway
2. Christina Willis, Humorous Speech Pathway

B. Appreciation for work done toward club growth — Toastmasters Certificate
3. Bonnie Maidak
4. Gabriel Gonzalez
5. Jennifer Okaima Piette
6. Reginald Esteban
7. Venus Griffin

I hope you are inspired to join us! Our commitment is to see you succeed!
